State Competitions in Hershey

In 2006, five of our members made it to the state competitions. These members were: Celeste Alberti, Casey Wine, Kayla Hall, Breanne Kent, and Joshua Laughlin. Casey, Kayla, and Breanne have all graduated. We hope that next year, once Joshua and Celeste have graduated, we will have new members to report on their time in Hershey. 2006 was the first time the State Competitions were in Hershey. Every year before that, the competitions were in Seven Springs. Not only were there competitions in Hershey, but there were also Business Workshops. Joshua Laughlin was the only one of the five that went to any of the workshops, and he said that he enjoyed it quite a bit. He says that the workshops were very informative and that he was glad to have gone to them all.

After competitions were over, the members found other ways to enjoy themselves. They went out to eat, and the before they left they had to stop at Hershey Park. At the hotel, though, there was a lot happening. There were card games and pizza, soda and people having fun. The time our members spent in Hershey was well spent, and was a lot of fun. If competitions go well this year, which they most likely will, our chapter may have another chance to get to Hershey.
