Stephanie Berkey
Stephanie Berkey is a three year member and junior who has been a great addition to our officers this year. Like Joshua, her older sister had been in FBLA, and convinced her to join. Actually, Stephanie’s sister Christina was the President of FBLA just a few years ago. Now, Stephanie has decided to follow in her sister’s footsteps and take on some responsibilities in our organization. She has been working with Jenna Altsman lately to balance our books and make sure we’ve got some money. She has been a great treasurer so far, and we expect great things from her.
Stephanie has done a lot to help further her business education. Not only has she taken the basic classes of keyboarding and Computer Literacy, but she has taken Accounting I and is currently taking Accounting II. It is obvious that she is willing to work to further her own knowledge, and she is more than willing to show it off in competition.
Like most of our members, Stephanie does not devote her time fully to FBLA, but we don’t mind that. Stephanie is also a member of the Usher’s Club, and has been doing a great job there as well. Stephanie is a great student and a hard worker, and she will make something of herself. She’s sure of it.
The semiformal dance was Stephanie’s favorite time of the year last year. She really enjoyed setting up the decorations, going to the dance, and then cleaning up the decorations. She was a big help, and did a lot of work to get the decorations up nicely.
In the future, Stephanie hopes that FBLA will “look good on an application or résumé for college or a great future job." FBLA has taught Stephanie a lot, including “how to take care of your responsibilities and actions. How to be a leader and [how to] take charge.” She said that after she’s done with high school, with a little help from our organization, she will “go after what [she] really wants.” Keep up the good work Stephanie, and tell your sister we all said hi.
