Katie ShableskyKatie Shablesky, a sophomore, is taking on a leadership role for the first time this year in FBLA. She joined last year, when she was a freshman, and after a good year she decided that being an officer didn’t sound like that bad of an idea. She signed up and was elected Co-Historian, working with Kaytlyn DiBitetetto and Christina Gorri. Katie said that were it not for Joshua Laughlin’s “persuasion,” she would not be a member of FBLA, but she is glad to have joined. Katie has taken a few business classes to help on her trip through the business world. She seems very willing to learn, and has already taken Computer Literacy, Keyboarding, and Exploratory Business. She plans to take more business classes and to compete with FBLA in the future, because she wants to learn and show her knowledge. Besides FBLA, Katie has many other clubs that she has to report to within our school. Katie is a member of Key Club, Bible Club, and Sportsman’s Club. I am not sure why she would want to be in Sportsman’s club, but to each his (or her) own. She is an aspiring young student that cannot wait to get out into the world. Katie is not the average teenage girl. Unlike most of members that enjoy setting up the semi, or being at the semi, or doing some other fun activity we do, like going to Cedar Point, Katie said that her most memorable activity from last year was simply organizing our Storage Room after we cleaned up the semi decorations. Katie has learned a lot from FBLA, including “how to be a leader and organize groups in order to achieve goals.” I’m sure she knows a lot about that, considering she was a major part of our Programs Committee for last year’s semiformal dance. Katie hopes that through FBLA she can have many open “opportunities in becoming a successful young adult when entering college.” Thank you Katie for all of your hard work, and keep it up. |
